IN this week’s planning applications, there are three proposals of note. A new office block will be built on the site of 32 -36 Thomas Street (beside “Plus & Minors”), details of development are immediately below our summarisation.
A multi denominational primary school has submitted for development of a new building on the grounds of Griffith Barracks. The school already exists in temporary prefabs and they are hoping to expand into a three storey building suitable for 16 classrooms.
Finally, after some revisions to the initial proposal, the 88 bedroom nursing home set for Irwin Street/Bow Bridge has received permission from the Council. The large scale development will see a 6 storey building on the currently unused plot.
